Rec good quality prints

So I ordered prints online through my photographer and he calls me up and says I'll send you the DVD of your e-pics ASAP so you can print them yourself and save some money. (which was weird but nice of him I guess?)Anyways, they are for my parents and FILs (they asked for copies) should I just take them to one of the kiosks at Walgreens or is there a better place to get quality prints?

I asked a similar question a few weeks ago and user (who would definitely know better than me!) recommended mpix.com.

i printed a bunch of epics and wedding pics on www.mpix.com - the quality is really good - noticeably better than prints i had done at kodakgallery, costco and walgreens.  they are a little more expensive (.29 for 4x6, .99 for 5x7 and 1.99 for 8x10) than the other options but i was really happy with the quality of the prints.  i would say they were comparable to the set of proofs printed by my photog.  their ship time is really quick too.  i have ordered pics on a monday or tuesday and gotten my prints by the weekend.

Oh, now I see why he cancelled my order! So much cheaper to do mpix and get "pro" quality prints. Thanks for the rec!

Are the files color corrected or right out of the camera?  A lab can only print as good as the file that it is printing.

I agree with mpix.com  I was just getting a few prints done and they emailed me that one of the files was corrupted. They offered to crop out the corrupted part if I couldn't fix it on my end (which I could).  Got the pics in a few days and they were great. All this for an order less than $2.
