What did you give FI/DH for a wedding present?

I *think* he's getting me a necklace and earrings for the day of...I hope so, cause now that's what I'm planning for! hahaI don't know what to get him. He wanted a Bose home theater system...but I'd rather get him something memorable and that will last forever or soemthing more sentimental I guess.  If I can't find that, I will be getting the Bose though.

    My idea is to get him a package of golf lessons. I think he'd be really surprised. He always says how he wants to learn but wants to take lessons first.

    I am with kle, I got him a card.  We agreed no gifts, we were spending enough money on the wedding, honeymoon, and mini-moon, that we opted for no gifts.

    I got a canon "L" lens I wanted for our honeymoon, and I got her 2 carat diamond hoop earings.

    I got him nothing, because we agreed on no gifts.  And then he got me a bracelet anyway... grr!!!

    I know it seems silly to get eachother gifts. But now that the idea of the necklace and earrings for me is out there, I kinda want them. haha.

    We havent really discussed it, but I dont think we will give gifts.  We are sending ourselves on a great HM, which will tap us out.

    we probably won't get each other gifts...but if you are planning on giving each other gifts, I think the Bose system is a great gift if it is something he really wants but might not want to buy for himself right now.

    I like the idea of giving eachother a little something special either the night before or while getting ready.  (I know a breitling is not a little something but he did buy me a really nice e-ring) I dont know where/how/why the custom started but even if it is just a heartfelt card I think opening something from my FI while I am getting ready that lets me know he is thinking about me will be nice. Oh and cvl105 Im hoping for some jewelry for the day of too!

    I'm not saying it is a bad idea, in fact I think it is sweet and am sure we will give each other a card etc.  Its just that we decided our HM would be our gift (of course I am asking for a Black Pearl while in Tahiti so its not like I am completely foregoing the gift idea!)

    We decided we'd rather spend the money on an excursion on the honeymoon.  So as not to miss out on the opportunity though, we decided that we would write each other letters and send them to each other the morning of (though WP members or something).

    I guess it's something nice to give eachother to remember the day forever...I mean, obviously you won't forget it. But every time I put on the necklace and earrings I think it'll remind me of our special day, etc. I also see it as another reason to get some fancy jewelery from FI ;o)
