NWR: need advice

So i've been interviewing for a new job forever and ever. Anyway, I had a final interview with a company and am a final candidate.  They checked my references and in an e-mail last friday, the HR manager stated they would hopefully have a decision by this past Friday.  Well as of today, I have not heard anything either way.  I was planning to e-mail her today and just say that I wanted to follow up to see if any decision had been made.  Do you think it is fine to e-mail her asking? or should I wait a few more days and if I hear nothing then ask. I'm so frustrated at this point and just want to know but don't want to be pushy either.  This is for a sales position so sometimes pushy can be good, but I have no sense of good judgement these days. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would give it one more day.  They may not even be in the office today, as it's a holiday. So if they didn't have time to call you Friday, hopefully they will do so tomorrow.

I would follow up with an email and just ask them if a decision has been made or if there is anything else that you can do for them to help make them make a decision.  dont be pushy, but you dont want to seem like you dont follow things through

First of all congrats on being a final candidate..now being the person I am I would have already emailed her...just remember though maybe the head people arent there today because of the holiday so maybe I would wait and If I didnt hear by tomorrow I would email her

i would email today or this evening...this way if they really are closed today(other than schools, most businesses are open today) they will have your email 1st thing in the morning...

I agree with Chels. They could be out today. Give it a shot tomorrow early afternoon as he/she will be playing catch-up in the morning.

I agree with PP that you should ask if a decision has been made and if not if there is anything you can do.  I would email today. They may not be there but the first thing they will be doing tomorrow is checking emails.

I would give it one more day. Check in tomorrow with a phone call a always be calm and smile while you talk. I know that sounds crazy-but it (smiling) comes across in your speech to the person who you are talking to over the phone...and say what ever you were going to say

I think I'm going to e-mail her in a little bit.  Even if she is not here, I don't think e-mailing would sway their decision.  Is this a good way to word it: Good Afternoon XXX, I hope everything is well with you.  I know the last time we spoke, you were in the final stages of the decision making process for the business development position and I just wanted to follow up to see if any decision has been made as of yet.  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Rosanna, the email sounds great! Good luck... i know how much you hate your current place  ;-) And you can send it today... i don't think they'll think you're being pushy since they said they'd know on Friday. If they're not there today, it'll get answered tomorrow.

i would wait until tomorrow; it's technically a holiday weekend and it more than likely slipped off their plate of To-Dos before leaving the office friday.  since it's sales, i agree, you should f/up mid- or end-of day tomorrow the latest.
