25 minutes?

It takes about 25 minutes to get from my church (for the ceremony) to the place I want to host the reception. Is that too far? I have heard 30 minutes is about the most it should take but just wanted to know what you guys think.

    I don't think so. I think if you provide them clear directions how to get around it shouldn't be a problem.  You should have your reception where you want!

    Also, maybe suggest that out of town guests stay in a hotel somewhere along the route/ between the two sites.

    Our reception location was about a 20-25 min drive from the ceremony location.  We had a map card with directions included in the invite.  We also had the information/directions on our wedding site.  We then had backup copies of directions at the ceremony.  I drove the route prior to having the directions printed to ensure that they were correct and straightforward.  We also had the hotel in between the two locations.  To my knowledge, no one got lost and we didn't hear any complaints.  HTH.

    25 minutes sounds fine AS LONG AS YOU INCLUDE A MAP for out-of-town guests at the very least.  I went to a wedding once that was a 30 minute drive between venues and it was before the days of Mapquest and the like.  I honestly don't even know how we ended up finding the freaking place.  Probably stopped at a couple of gas stations along the way.  But it definitely took us longer than 30 minutes lol.

    I agree with everyone else. As long as you provide very clear, easy to follow directions it should be fine.

    Thank you for the advice! :) I only have one family that is out of town (my uncle, my aunt, and little cousin). So, that should help out a lot.

    Our reception was like 40mins away and it was not a problem. People stayed in the middle or closer to the reception. HTH!

    Opps, I totally goof.  I clicked yes thinking that 25 minutes was ok.  I meant to click no.  I agree with teh rest of the girls.  If you provide directions, I think 25 minutes is fine.
