Getting Pissed...

My wedding is May 1,2010. I have all my vendors booked and contracts signed except for my reception. Here's the issue... My reception is going to be at the Double Tree Inn in Mahwah, NJ. I have had 2 meetings with the lady in charge. The first one we just saw the facilities the second one we booked the date and gave her a deposit. She said she would immediatley draw the contract up and send it to us. (i live 15min away) that was Spetember 5th. We completley forgot about the contract until 2 weeks ago when we were discussing bringing her some money towards the bill. I called her and left a message the 5th of this month and she did not call me back. Then i called her again last Friday the 9th. She apologized and said that things have been very hectic and that they have had alot of events but my date is booked dont worry and my contract is in the mail. Well now its a week later I still have no contract and im getting pissed off. I dont want to call and curse her out because im still gonna have to deal with her for the next 6 months. But this is getting ridiculous. I love the ballroom they have i love the price. Everything is right i just need a contract for a little peace of mind. All my vendors should be set at this point and shes making me nervous ya know.... ahhhhhhh.....

Since it's only 15 minutes away, I would honestly go right on down there in person and ask for the contract so you can sign it and be done.

Do you live close by? Drive over and get the contract.

I agree. I would drive over and sign the contract. Without a hall, you dont really have a wedding so I would resolve this ASAP

I would def go over and talk to her in person.  I would have thought you would have gotten the contract when you booked the date and put the deposit down.

I agree with everyone, I would call her and say you will be there at a certain time to review and execute the contract.

I had sort of a similar problem with my venue, but it my case it only took maybe three weeks before getting the final signed contract. A big part of the holdup was that the general manager was on vacation for a while and he needed to sign it, which considering we commited to the venue in mid-August is probably a legit reason. She did email me a version of the contract in the mean time. It didn't have signatures but I felt at least we had some documentation. Is this a possibility for you?

Agreed with pp.  Go in person, and have her give you the contract then and there.

I have a terrible temper. My fiance is going to call her. He fears I will really lose it. Maybe she will get her act together if the groom calls. Its just such bad business to take someones deposit (i did get a receipt) September 5th and here it is October 15th and no contract. She's ruining her tip right now lol.

Leave a vcm for the hotel's GM that you've been trying to get this done and also for Dir. of Sales.. Like others said, don't wait around, drive down there.

Just because FI is more level headed, shouldn't stop you from driving there and getting that contract.

No more phone calls and VMs go there in person. I speak from experience. Macys was giving me the run around about a hair comb I ordered back in july and kept telling me it will be here at the end of the month, oh a couple more weeks, oh it's in transit. So instead of waiting for a phone call I knew was never going to get I just showed up at the store and what do you know I walked out of there with my hair comb.

So my FI called there yesterday left a message and again we have heard nothing. I have decided to go there immediately after work unless by some strange reason we hear something between now and 5. He wanted to go alone Saturday (because i will be dress shopping) but nope I'm going. I will go to the gym after i find out what the hold up is. I am a very patient person however my patience has run out.
