Sorting the proofs

Holy Momma, this is hard. I got my printed proofs Tuesday night (yay) and I narrowed down the ones I like for the album from 982 to 324! Now to whittle it down to about 70-75. This is hard! Oh, and my pictures are gorgeous. Especially when I put them in an album of all the ones I love. I dont know how I will pick... Millie B and Michele Arlotta are ARTISTS, Artists, I say!

This is probably the most difficult, time consuming and tedious WR task lol!  Worse than my DIY invites.  We tackled it for the first time a few days ago.  DH & I rarely argue and it was getting so heated, about 20 minutes in I decided we needed to call it quits lol.

Hahaha -- veena, that's I think why we STILL haven't finished our album.  WAY too daunting even though we've been through two rounds of drafts.

Ah... luckily, my husband wasnt helping me sort last night because he "couldn't reach" from his chair.

I offered to do it myself but I don't want to deal with him overhauling it at the end if he doesn't like my choices.The crazy thing is - we weren't even arguing over the pics.  We were arguing over the best way to quickly get the task done.  We have 1600+ images over the 2 days!!That reminds me, I should really change my siggy already

Welcome to my personal hell! I had almost 3 thousand pictures to sort in RANDOM ORDER.

Ugh I don't know how you did it Tiff.  Mine were also in random order (printed), although they were in order on the CD thankfully.  It took me hours to sort & put them into albums lol.  I still have about 100 dancing pics I didn't even try to put in order haha.

Mine were on 7 CDs and I had to rename them to put them in a new order... then I ordered my prints and they were in the original out of order, order. I also had to sort down to decide which ones I even wanted to print as proofs (which was about 1100).

Not looking forward to that. Sorting down to 100 pics fr our montage was hell enough for me. Same with 20 bpics for the album.

I am not looking forward to the 2000 pics I will have to sort through!!  I am the worst decision maker!

And I thought picking 30 out of 150 pictures for an engagement album was hard! I'm not looking forward to picking out pictures for our montage or the wedding album - I can't imagine how long it's gonna take.

I'm glad you finally got your proofs!  We ended up adding a few extra sides to our album, there was just so far I was willing to cut down to.  I think we cut down to 85 or so, from just shy of 1000.  It actually wasn't too bad.  DH really had no opinion on the matter, so I just went through the proofs, made a pile of my faves (a few hundred) and worked it down from that.  It took about a week or so, and we had our list.  Good luck!

My photog told me he would narrow to 250 or so if I wanted and I could take it from there. I figure he does this for a living so I may as well let him do his thing.....do most photogs not do this or is it just something you want to do?
