Nutritionist

Hi, Is anyone using a nutritionist to help then get healthy and drop some pounds before their wedding? Do any of you ladies have any good recommendations for anyone in the north jersey area? Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!!

i dont have a nutritionist but i went to one years ago with a friend of mine.  i suggest weight watchers.  from the nutritionist that i went to, she was telling us the same things as the ww program. ive been on ww for probably like 6 years. i lost over 25 lbs on it and its a lifesyle change.  so it teaches you overall how to be healthy, lose weight for the wedding but also keep it.

I should probably add -- I think a nutritionist is great for getting healthy and dropping a few unnecessary pounds, but a program like Weight Watchers would be just as good or better for weight loss.

Thanks! I have done weight watchers and lost weight before but I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid last year and am having a heck of a time keeping weight off. My doctor said a nutritionist might be a smart idea.

Agreed.  I've seen a few nutritionists/dietitians over the past couple of years and they all basically end up telling me the same shyt with their own variation of what they personally think is the best I would rec WW too...it worked great for me to lose the last 10 lbs. I wanted to pre-wedding and I've lost an additonal 5 post-wedding Good ol' diet and exercise is the key to being successful.

Oh and one more thing, I see that you said you have an underactive thyroid...try reading this book.  It works wonders and is ALL about making your metabolism work for you and using the key foods in life that change your body's reaction to food - It has little exerpts on most of the pages that focus on people with medical problems and their hurdles with weight loss (e.g. diabetes, heart issues, thryoid) The Abs Diet by David Zinczenko (get the "for women" version bc it has variationsin their for time of the month, etc.) This is the same guy who does the "Eat This Not That" books
