Final Head Count

Our final count is due tomorrow.  How many do you subtract from your actually number for leeway(sp) with no shows? 5-10?

Are they asking for how many people will be at each table? If so, they will catch you if you give a final count that doesnt match. Otherwise, most, I think, would say 5.

I don't know how people work around this without potentially leaving someone without a seat. My venue wanted a list of each people at the table and the numbers of ppl pertable AND the place cards. It truely gave me a headache bc I was thinking that I needed to play with my numbers (thanks to theknot). In the end, I would rather be accurate then deal with adding in definite RSVP people at crunch time. IMO.

We gave mine the exact table count and people at each but told them we were unsure of 3 (it was true).  So they said pay for everyone minus those 3 and if they show up day of you'll just owe us that.5-10 is a lot and in fact an entire table.

We didn't subtract anyone.  The thought didn't cross our minds, but our venue also got a full table list, could count the escort cards, and needed a full list of people to let in at the gate.We only had 1 no show anyway-- the priest had to do last rites that day, which obviously is an excellent excuse and not one you can plan for.

Well I have 5 people that replied w/guest but no guest name.  So I figured its like a 'gee I wanna bring a date to this wedding but don't know exactly who yet' and I don't wanna be stuck paying for their 'i don't know who yet' and there acctually being no 'i don't know exactly whose' in the end.  So I was gonna not count those until I get names and stuff.

Won't you need those names for the escort cards? I would call and ask... otherwise, if someone says they are bringing a guest, then that guest should be counted in the number. They are telling you that they're bringing someone. Some people just dont think to write it in.

I have had three people write and guest and then recant the quest so far.  I only need a number for the caterer.  No list of acctual names are due.  I agree 10 is a lot.

I would tell your venue that you're still waiting to hear about a few guests, but your number is x.  Then ask your friends for names (because you need them for the escort cards), and update your venue when you know.  They should understand.
