BM Dress Sizes

I just got an email from my one BM and a text from the other concerned about the dress sizes that the salon (Jefre's) suggested that they order. Both of them are a street size 12 maybe 14 at the very largest.  The one was told to order an 18 and the other was told to order a 20 (she has big ta ta's) and it cost them both $20 because of the larger sizes. Also, the dress they tried on was a size 10 and it wasn't 4 or 5 sizes too small on either of them.Does this seem normal?  I'm ready to call and be like WTF.  I don't want tents to come in and then look awful when they have to alter it 3 or 4 sizes

street size on like a 0-2.  bp dresses i normally a 4-8 depending on the cut and desginer, so it doesn't seem that off.

yep, makes sense. when the dresses need to go larger than 14 or longer length usually a $15 or $20 fee.

Yes...they basically order double the size you normally wear, even though they probably will be big. I am normally an 8 and for my friend's wedding (Jim Jhelm dress) they ordered me a 16, and it was a bit big. They order it based on your biggest body part, which for me is my HINEY!!! So if your friend has big boobs, they are ordering based on that.

that sounds normal...i am usually a 4 or a 6 and everytime i got measured for a BM dress they always ordered me a 10 or 12...those dresses run REALLY small and its better to have it to big then to small!! i'd rather be safer then sorry! ya know! :)

BM dresses don't really have the "vanity sizing" other types of clothing do. I have big ta-tas too (lol at ta-tas) and in some BM dresses my size 16.18 self would need a size 24. A friend of mine on FB a few weeks ago, posted about wearing her mom's size 11 jeans from the 1970s. She's maybe a size 4 on a bad day. Crazy.

It seems a size larger than necessary for each of them in my opinion.  I was a BM in a wedding, the sample fit me, but was a bit tight, they ordered not 1 but 2 sizes bigger, and it was tent on me (I had also lost about 5 lbs between ordering and coming in), and never really looked all that great, so I understand your concern.  If you think they should go down a size, as long as you are willing to sign off on it, I would go for it.

Oh yeah, that is also one of the reasons that I loved the designer that I went with for my BM dresses, they have a store in the city and have every dress in several sizes (not all sizes, but 4 or so for every style), so you can get a better sizing idea.  Good luck getting this all figured out!
