MOB dress

My mom is searching for a dress for my wedding, but she is having a tought time. She's a size 14, and a lot of the places that we went didn't have any dresses that she could even try on...anyone know of a MOB dress shop with a ton of dresses that she could try on? I'm in Short Hills, but we are def willing to travel. TIA

Did she check department stores and regular clothing boutiques that sell eveningwear? She may have better luck if she expands her search beyond "Mother of the Bride outfits." My mom found her outfit on clearance at Macy's. I've seen some nice stuff on Nordstrom.com as well.

i don't think this is too far..., but my mom had luck at mother's dresses in hawthorne....she thought she would have luck in a department store, since she got her mob dress from macy's for my sister's wedding, but wasn't having the same luck for mine....she waited until about 6 weeks out from the wedding to order hers...but they got it in on time.... they do have samples that are about size 14, 16....i know i tried on my mom's sample dress and it fit, i'm about a 14/16.....

RK Bridal in NYCMy mom found hers at somewhere called Jan's (I think) in Cherry Hill. It was really far for her, but she had looked everywhere and couldn't find anything. She said the place was huge and had tons of dresses.

Lord & Taylor also has a good selection of special ocassion dresses and day dresses that could be made formal with some elegant jewelry. that's where my Mom bought hers. There's a L&T in Rockaway, Willowvbrook Mall in Wayne and Westfield.

Both my mom and FI's mom got their dresses at Lord & Taylor. My mom is around a size 16, FI's mom is maybe a 6/8.

you should have her look in Neiman Marcus in The Short hills mall...they have a HUGE dress department...my mom found a dress there she really likes!

There's a store called Ashanti in Millburn that starts at size 14. My mom found her dress at RK Bridal in either a size 16 or 18. Jan's IS huge, Melissa. It's not far from my house at all.

My mom went to russell's in linden. They definitely have larger sample sizes. She wears a size 14 and was able to try on either 12s or 14s in a lot of designers and styles.

If you arein Short Hills I would definately check out the mall and the store in Milburn PP mentioned.  I have found some great dresses at Saks and Neimans recently.  Also Macys has big dress department in some stores these days with a really good selection.
