Voting without ID

I found it really strange today that when I went to vote that they never even asked me for my I. D. Just told me to sign her and here. I told them that my name has changed and that I brought my marriage liscence with me. They told me don't worry just sign with the name that it says here. I found that pretty wierd that they asked for no I. D. And told me to sign my name that is not legal.

It is actually illegal to ask for ID when voting. Don't know why, but I have been told that.

Huh....that's interesting. I'm going to have to research that. I wonder why?

I think some sort of ID would be good, I think it is illegal because it costs money to get IDs, drivers license (what if you don't drive), passport etc. I think it is something about deterring those less fortunate from voting.

I could easily forge my mothers name and I know where she goes to vote. JUst seems wierd to me aslo that I need to sign my non legal name lol. I had all my paperwork ready.

There have been constitutional challenges... disproportionately suppresses the poor and minority vote.
