Funny, cause I was thinking our place was really super reasonable being just over $100.

I paid like $88 before tax and gratuity for a Saturday night in February. I negotiated a good amount. I usually talk post tax and gratuity, because that adds a substantial amount to the price. When I would go to venues I would sit there and be like "how much for tax and gratuity" and multiply it out before them and be like, "OK, so we're talking $120 p/p not $95"

that may have sounded snotty -- what I meant was, we looked at a whole bunch of other places that were WELL over $100, and this one seemed like such a deal. So I was thinking that the higher budgets were more the norm, and $100/pp was on the less-expensive side.
