TY Cards w/Odd situations - how to address

Home stretch! 15 left to write!1. BM's whole family (2 parents, 2 sisters, were invited).  Both sisters live at home.  Older sister that I barely know declined.  The younger attended.  Outside, I put "The Smith Family".... Inside, what do I write? "Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Sister" and skip the other sister?  Or list everyone's names?Should mention BM gets her own TY card as she is now married.2. Our sort of SIL is married with 2 kids.  She and her husband are on the rocks.  She brought a cute young boy toy to the wedding as her date, which was a total surprise.  Her placecard was addressed to "Mr. & Mr. Smith!"... Went out to dinner for family birthday a few weeks ago, and she is there with her husband and kids, like a big happy family.  How do I address THAT card?  Lol... I should mention I have been writing "Thanks so much for celebrating with us"

Should mention with #2 that we really like her husband and just don't want to snub him.

Did you still have the cards?  I wrote the last names on the back and then was able to reference them when writing TY cards.  So...I went by how THEY signed the cards. If you don't have the cards... 1.  Dear Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Sister that came (and sister the didn't!)  and then add something like "we missed you/ wish you were there to celebrate with us" 2.  Dear ____ Family or Dear Sort of SIL and sort of BIL

Wow, number two is hard. Really hard. Maybe just write about how you appreciated their well-wishes, had a great time at the wedding, & appreciate their gift. Avoid the "Thanks for celebrating" phrases. How was the card filled out on number one? I would address it to all of them. Maybe you can even write The Smith Family on the inside - not as personal, but that would be a lot of names to list.

Hmmm... #1, I would address it to the whole family, but say something like Thank you for the generous gift! We're saving for a home, so it will come in handy. We had a blast celebrating with you! Older girls, you were missed! Hope to see you all soon! Love, Veenudy#2, I would address it to whomever the card was signed from. If you cant find the card, address it to the recipient of your invitation.
