Since i'm bored..here it isSame here Coll.  The wall-o-text is making me dizzy.Moontide26 Day of Coordinators are a dime a dozen. If you do a search you'll find a million of 'em in a 10 mile radius to wherever you are.  If you want to get into the bz good luck but being in a few weddings doesn't make one an expert.

    And for the record, I don't think that wanting to become a wedding planner is a horrible idea ... I mean, it's a real profession after all, so SOMEONE has to fill those slots. I think a lot of people were just pointing out that: (a) there are a LOT of wedding planners out there, so competition might be tough; (b) there's a lot more to being qualified to be a wedding planner than being a bride and being a bridesmaid several times; and (c) be careful about posting this kind of thing here, because vendors are not allowed on the Knot ... even if you're not necessarily advertising your services.

    Real opinion: DOC is a real job with real benefits for the bride. However, what you described IMO sounded more like a 'friend-for-hire/I'm too lazy to do a damn thing myself coordinator'. And while there may be some people willing to pay for that I think they will be few and far between.

    thats what sucks about this board.  if i were actually someone in the WR, and didn't pimp myself out, or even metnion it unless asked, i could get in trouble?  so posts like "what do you do for a living"  i should lie and or STFU?  (i missed this DD but assume there were DOCs on here that replied that was their biz?  insert a big who givesashit here)...
