i don't think people know how rude they are

Eh, looks like a slow night again, so I guess I'll complain...My biggest peeve in the beginning of planning was every time I told someone my date they would say "Oh, don't rush into it," or "Wow, you've definitely got time." or something else along the lines of that's too much time in their opinion. Now that I'm knee deep in DIY projects, someone says to me today -"wow, you're making everything yourself, are you paying for anything?" um seriously? I'm still shelling out over $20k. MYOB.

Gotta love clueless people! What did you say back? We got engaged in June of 2008 and are getting married the same weekend as you and got the "May 2010 - wow that is a while" ALL the time. Like if you would like to give me money for my wedding I will push the date up, but since you are prob not going to do that, we are keeping May...thanks!

Three words I've learned to say to myself... People are stupid or most people suck No one thinks before they speak, it becomes more apparent when I began wedding planning I think lol

Vendors did this to me ALL THE TIME! "Wow, you're booking far in advance." I was only engaged 1.5 years and booked most of my vendors less than a year out. I'm not sure why it was considered so far in advance.

Jamie- I think there is a tendency for people to make small talk regarding your wedding. I had some people who would ask me on a weekly basis how the planning was coming. "Good..." I mean, I had nothing to say. I wasn't going to bore them with all of the details (that's why I came on here).

Every day I come in contact with people, each one more stupid than the last, I say "ugh I hate people". Instances like this would be one of those times I'd be saying "ugh I hate people".

Where do all these stupid people come from? We are all on the same page and the majority of people I interact with daily feel the same way about 'stupid' people. Who are they and where do they come from?

I try not to bore people at work because I know I went a little crazy in the beginning... but I'm at a new location and they're asking a lot of questions. It doesn't get to me really, but I just want to say "really I mean May is 6 months away... it's really not that far genius." And today when she asked if I was paying for anything I said something like "well paper and supplies cost money too!" She also told me about a wedding she went to where they had all these little jars and pretty ribbons with candy and people took those as favors! I'm like really?! My venue includes that. :)

Randomly butting in, I was married in May (well, the 1st of May) & seriously, I don't think I rememeber anything between Thanksgiving & the wedding day- that's how fast the time went when it got to this point! Also, agree with what Cheryl/cherylanddan had to say!!

I hated when people would say things like, "You don't need that, it's a waste of money." Um, butt out!

Ignore them. Everyone is always going to have something to say about anything. Its really annoying.
