Thank you ladies (and gentlemen) for your advice yesterday. Sometimes famalies suck! 
I went home last night and talked to FI about the situation and he is just as upset about the entire thing as I am and is going to speak with his brother tonight. He is upset that his brother would put him in that situation in the first place. I'm hoping the conversation goes well and I am happy to be marrying such a great man!
