Gel nail polish that lasts

I know I saw a few weeks ago a thread about nail polish I think by OPI that lasts for 2-3 weeks. I searched but couldnt find it. Is this regular polish or similar to getting acrylic nails? Anyone know of any Northern NJ places I could get this done? Thanks!

It's the Gel OPI and I know Rutherford Nails in Rutherford has it, they charge $35 for the manicure. My sister got it and it does last 3 weeks, she said it got a little dull sometimes and she had to put a coat of clear over it. I plan to get it for my wedding and honeymoon, I just can't bear to spend the money now since we are remodeling, my manicure is embarrassing.

I don't think it totally wrecks them if you just do it once.  I did it for months and it wrecked mine, but one time might not be so horrible.

I've done them sporadically, and it seems to work out fine.  I have naturally thin and brittle nails, but I can get two gel manicures in a row (4 weeks), allow my nails to grow a little while they're manicured, take it off, and just use nailtiques and polish for 2 -3 weeks and then go back to the gels for a month or so. It's helped me grow my nails out a bit, which I like.

it won't ruin your nails if you do it just once. i am very particular about my nails. i maintain a short cut with very light polish. i did opi for wedding (princesses rule & passion were the names) and it lasted 2 weeks and my nails were fine after.

I agree with pp. If you use it once it will not ruin your nails but it will if you  do it multiple consecutive times. I did it 3 consecutive times and my nails are ruined now. They even hurt when you touch them . Sounded way too good to be true

I had recently tried the OPI Axxium in Princess Rules!  it was a very light pink and anything under my nails was visable.  After a few days I had to purchase nail glue to glue down the corners of my nail  because they were peeling away from the gel.  After a week I just decided to take them off.  I am going to try again in a few weeks, but I am going to make sure my nails are short.  If you are only wearing the gel for your wedding I think it would be fine.  You can go on OPI.com to look at colors and find a place in your area.
