venue - my loss your gain

If anyone is interested in a first class venue in Sept 2011, that would normally never be available on such short notice, please PM me, or if  you are comfortable posting your contact information on this thread.
I am forced to cancel, and simply have an interest in getting another party into the slot.
This is a serious post

It may be more beneficial to you if you provided the name of the venue and the exact date that it's available.

    I smell a vendor?

Didn't even think of that!  DUH!  My first thought was that there have been a lot of cancelled weddings lately.  Good call, girl!

Eh, maybe this is a legitimate request from someone who doesn't want to post the venue name on a public board for privacy reasons. (Maybe it's someone who's posted here in the past, who's embarrassed the wedding's off and made a new account for this.)

Or, it could be someone who's harvesting e-mails, or the venue itself. But I don't want to say it's a vendor outright.

People here sure seem to get their jollies from screaming "VENDOR!!!1!!" I know there are rules on this board, but if you're suspicious of a post, I think it's more productive to report it. Or ignore it.

I did report it. If they are not a vendor, I would assume they would post something else in response to this.

I am not a vendor. I was fearful that my post might be taken that way, which is my in my original post i stated "this is a serious post". I am a father who is pretty devastated right now, and just trying to find a way to get lucky that the Banquet Hall is able to book the slot so that i can avoid losing a lot of money.

I prefer not to name the venue for privacy purposes, you'll have to trust me, its a first class facility, i dont want to cause any more pain than has already been caused to anyone.
Please do not remove the post.
    Thank you
EDIT: PS - If you are interested, and PM me, i will be happy to provide my cell phone and email address, you can then contact me rather than the other way around, and i will refer you to the venue, you can take it from there. All i will ask is that you let me know if you book it or not, so i know i can talk to the venue about taking me off the hook and returning my $

Just because someone's first post isn't what you think it should be doesn't mean they are a vendor.
If she was a vendor she would have named the venue!

No one will email you without the name of the place. Sorry!
  • edited December 2011
Yeah, no one knows who you are, post the name of the place to at least get people interested.  You don' t have to post the date, so again no one will know who u are.  You will reach a lot more people that way too.

OP - Sorry about your situation!  But I still say you need to post the venue name at the very least if you want any interest at all.  Or, perhaps, the town it's located in so people can narrow it down.

I spoke with Pratoman this afternoon regarding the opening at the venue he had booked. He is NOT a vendor and is simply trying to put out feelers to see if he can find someone who is interested in possibly taking his date. As soon as I spoke with him, he shared the date and venue and explained his reasons for not posting them. FYI it is one of the "top" venues in the state and is for a Saturday night this Sept. Pratoman was extremely nice and just looking for some help without posting anything that could be misconstrude. I can not emphasize enough that he is NOT a vendor and is trying to make best of a very difficult situation.

I get what you are saying...but saying it is one of the "top" venues in the state doesn't really help!    He may get more interest if he at least gives the name of the venue or the location, so that someone might see the name of the venue and be interested, that way people are wasting their time getting in touch with this guy if the venue is too far, or too expensive, etc.

I agree. I wanted to be respectful and not post the name since he wasn't comfortable with it earlier. I hope he does share the location on here. I'm sure there would be some interest. I personally love his venue.

Yeah, I really don't understand the purpose behind not sharing the name of the place here.. and I really have no idea what is meant by "one of the top places in NJ". When I think of reception halls in NJ, I don't think of anywhere as a "top" place.

As TripleJTobe said, OP is not a vendor and has personal reasons for not sharing the venue or location at this time.  If anyone is in need of a venue in September they can choose to contact him.
