Shower Thank Yous = ENDLESS! LOL

Instead of neglecting work by hanging on theknot all day, I am neglecting work by doing my shower thank yous! =P
Such a daunting task.... I like to write notes in each one, but don't like to sound cheesey or just say 'thanks for the ____ ! Can't wait to have you ____ with us!' ~ but its hard! I haven't felt like this since writing papers in school! LOL
If I am struggling this much with shower thank yous ~ I can't even imagine how hard the wedding thank yous will be... especially because most people give cash for that! And I always find it awkward (though don't get me wrong, 1000% necessary) to write thank yous for cash! =P
Ugh... back to writing...!!!

That's what I did with my Gift Cards and cash, I'm still writing them....soooo many to go! lol

I would agree with the wording in both of the PPs. I can only imagine writing a couple of hundred unique cards. They are going to start sounding alike after awhile. I still have some time to go before either my shower or wedding. But this is one of those things I'm not looking forward to but know is a necessity.

I am atleast trying to make family members / circle of friends' different, so in the off chance they see each other, it doesn't look like I wrote the same thing for everyone.... it takes a lot of conscious effort though, thats for sure!

im so bad! I have gotten two thank you notes for showers after mine! I am finishing the last of them up tonight andgetting them out!

I took over a month to get mine out. They were a pain. I'm procrastinating on getting back to the photog on the TY cards b/c I don't want to deal with them haha

I had 62 to do, but I was like a machine.  My shower was on a Sunday and I brought them all to the post office that Tuesday morning.  I had a business trip the rest of the week and I can't stand things hanging over my head.  For cash and gift cards, I wrote something along the lines of, "Thank you so much for your generous gift.  We are planning to put it toward luggage for our honeymoon"  A lot of older relatives sent checks and I thought they would like to know what we were doing with the money.

umm, i guess im the worst. my shower was the 22nd of may and i still haven't sent them out. as a matter of fact i have only written out 15 of about 60

I said stuff like "Thank you for coming to my shower and for your generous gift. It will certainly come in handy for xyz.  I hope that you enjoyed yourself and can't wait to celebrate with you at the wedding.  Once again, thank you for helping to  make my bridal shower so special."

I am in the process of writing mine out as well!  Just dedicating the rest of this week to bang them out, for I want to get invites out as well.

In my thank yous I've thanked them for coming to the shower and hoped they enjoyed themselves.  Then I thanked them specifically for the gift they bought me and added another line in there about using the gift - i.e. everyday dinnerware sets - I've already started using them and love them!  Then closing it up with a looking forward to hopefully seeing you at the wedding.
