Hotel room rates for weddings

How much do hotels usually discount their rooms when they're blocked for a wedding? I'd love to use the Hilton Garden Inn in Lakewood because it's perfectly situated between our ceremony and reception, but I feel like its regular rate of ~$160/night might be prohibitively expensive for our younger guests/couples.
Most of the hotels we've stayed in for weddings this year have been right around $100/night, except for one in downtown Philly (but we obviously knew what we were getting into). Should I block a less expensive hotel like the Best Western or the Ramada in Tom's River and let our ritzier/older guests make more expensive accomodations on their own if they wish?

Our discounted rate for our block is $159 per night. We are not giving guests any other options, because it's really the only hotel in the area. No one is forcing anyone to stay, so if they don't want to pay for it they don't have to. I was invited to a wedding this past summer, and their rate was also $159 and they did not give any other options - so it's a little on the high side, but not unheard of.

Thanks cutie pie! Do you mind if i ask how much of a discount from the regular rate you got? I'm trying to figure out if I can/should negotiate with hotels.

ours is 129 a night including the shuttle price, so we are not paying for the shuttle.

Our hotel was also $129 per night and included the shuttle service.

Ours is $125, FI was able to talk them down from $145

Our regular rate was $189 - the discount they offer is 10% so the rooms were supposed to be $170, but since we are having our wedding at the hotel and are spending a lot of money per head, they brought it down to a little more for us because we complained that $170 was really high.

Ours is $99 per night and I think the rate is normally $109 or $129. We didn't get a huge discount but it is still a discount. We are using a Holiday Inn in Budd Lake.

If you can move a little down the road from the Garden Hilton on 70 in Lakewood there is the Best Western.  It's maybe 5min down the road and on the other side.  The price is $79 per night for the guests and they block 15 rooms for you

Here's a website that I used to book my block of rooms. Hotels actually bid for your business. I was able to reserve my block of rooms at $ 65 per night at the Holiday Inn
