My Makeup Artist

I just want to recommend my Makeup Artist-  I puffy heart her.

I relocated to MD for work and getting married in NJ since most of our families are from there.  I'm not from North Jersey so I needed to do a lot of research to find a vendor, especially for Makeup.  Someone posted on TK about LeAnn from Leela cosmetics - she has been so good to me and super accommodating.  I went to my trail (my first one with Jillyan didn't really work out) and LeAnn nailed it- plus I love that she gives another complimentary trail right before the wedding date so that we can go back over everything and make sure we are on the same page (some people didn't offer that when I looked :o/  ).   Just thought I would pass along the info incase anyone else is looking- happy hunting!

    I'm in a similar situation Babycakes, so thanks for the tip! Does she do hair as well?

    I was thinking of setting up a trial with Jillyan, b/c she comes highly recommended. What didn't you like about her? (If you don't mind sharing)

    Leann is located in a spa so there might be someone that does hair, but I had a friend who is a stylist doing my hair.

    Jillyan was really nice.  I brought a picture with me of what I wanted, and then showed her a picture of me with how I normally do my makeup so she can get an idea of my style.... well when she finished my makeup it looked like how I normally do my makeup- no difference... I didn't feel like I had my makeup professionally done.  In fact- I went out afterwards and no one even said a thing.  I was expecting to get some compliments, but I never did.

     I also asked for fake lashes and she didn't do it during my trial (which was my fault for not bringing up at the end of my trail) but when she showed me my makeup in the mirror- MY EYELASHES WERE ALL CLUMPED TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!! like holy tarantula eyes!!  I couldn't believe she didn't fix it, it was so noticeable.  I really felt like this is not the woman I want to do my makeup if she didn't follow the pics, or fix my eyelashes.  *sigh* I really wish I wasn't so passive about it, but another client came in while she was doing my makeup and I felt rushed- the other client said she was a little early, but I didn't know if she meant by 5, minutes or 20 minutes so I felt rushed because I thought maybe my appointment was going over or something.  I dunno... that part was my fault- but no excuse for the clumpy lashes and the way the makeup came out :o/
