Officiants?

Hi Everyone,

I'm just starting out with looking into officiants and have no idea where to start. FI and I are both Catholic and it seems as if he would like to have a somewhat religious ceremony even though it isn't in a church. Is this even possible? I know priests can't do Catholic ceremonies outside of the church, but does anyone know of any officiants that can do a ceremony maybe with some Catholic influences? I hope this post makes sense. TIA for your help and guidance :)

We used Rev. Glenn Woertz and he was awesome. Everyone loved his personality. He was through http://www.abeautifulaffairoftheheart.com/
They tend to have many officiants that get good reviews.

Our minister was amazing! We got soooo many compliments on our ceremony!
It was very spiritual, but not over the top religious. (It was not in a church.... but we are also both Catholic)

We used Father John Michael O'Sullivan, he was great!  He is a retired Catholic priest.

I heard and got recommended for Father John Michael O'Sullivan. . .glad to hear you liked him, we need to set up an appt to meet with him. . . if you dont mind me asking, was he expensive? I was actually super shocked at a few quotes @ $400 for a 20-30 min ceremony on location at my venue plus your suppose to tip - whew! Seems like a lot to me.

He charged us $500.  I think that's the going rate.  I also have a friend that does ceremonies-

I can't speak for his ceremonies, but he's an awesome guy and I think his rates might be a little cheaper.

ETA:  The only reason I didn't use my friend is because we have some very "catholic" family members that gave us less grief because we used a retired priest rather than a non denominational officiant.

thanks for the heads up on price. . . whew, so much lol the reason im considering is because of the recommendations. . .I keep going back and forth, its the actual ceremony so its so important, but at the same time its less than 30 min. I'll figure it out lol
