We visited, loved it, but it was out of our price range.  I believe for a Saturday night in July we were quoted 135ish ++.  They hold 2 weddings at a time and stagger them.  If you want an outdoor ceremony there isn't enough space for seating which was a major factor for me.

We visited and liked it, but they also quoted us high.  They asked for $145 for Saturday night in May.  That was with the medium cocktail hour, and no Viennese Hour (just cookies on the table and cake).

I visited South Gate Manor a few months ago.  Thought the place was really nice especially the cocktail hour room but the grounds themselves were a little on the small side.  I also think they said that both rooms have their cocktail hour in the same room, so I didnt love that either.  I know someone that recently went and loved the cocktail hour but wasn't thrilled about the actual reception food.  There was a thread about the South Gate Manor a few months ago on this board, so maybe if you did a search  you can find that thread that contained more information.

I tried to contact SGM during my venue search and their voicemail box was full so I couldn't leave a message, and they did not respond to emails. That was a huge sign to make me run...if I can't get a hold of them now, what would it be like right before my wedding? I also heard mixed reviews about the place anyway....I heard it is overpriced and the food isn't amazing, and something about the parking lot being a nightmare to get into. My mom just mentioned yesterday that someone she knows has a family member getting married there and it is $166 a person (or something in that range).

If you're looking for a venue in Freehold, I'm getting married at the Crystal Ballroom at the Radisson in Freehold. You should check it out if you haven't already. The ballroom is amazing (it was renovated 2 years ago) with tray ceilings and huge chandeliers, and I've heard rave reviews about the cocktail hour food in particular (from people I know who have been there before as well as other brides). Their prices are very reasonable too. Feel free to PM me if you want any additional info.

I went to South Gate when I was looking, they were second runner up to Addison.  If you have a Friday/Sunday wedding, or guarantee a certain number of guests, you can have the place to yourself.  We are getting married at our venue, so size of ceremony area was very important.  SGM's outside ceremony area is very tiny  and awkward, although visually appealing.  I heard the food was great there.  They definitely will negotiate with you.  My friend from work is getting married on a Friday and her total was I believe in the 120 area, INCLUDING VIENNESE.

PS.  The bridal suite is RIDICULOUS!  They have a flat screen mounted on the wall that has a view of your cocktail hour. lol

I am getting married there in October 2011. The place is gorgeous, but they do usually do two weddings at a time.  I was on a no carpet mission and looking for something a little more modern, so that is why I chose SG.  Suggestion...meet with Chris...he is really nice and easy to work with. I have two friends who have been to weddings there and they all rave over the cocktail hour (I'm hoping dinner is just as good)...We are hoping to do an outside ceremony, but are having a slightly smaller wedding so the space works for us.  We found there prices to be comparable with almost all the more modern, newer venues without carpet...Hope this helps...Good luck...Addison Park is another similar venue that I hear great things about
