Skylands Manor, Ringwood NJ

Hi Ladies. Hope everyione had a nice weekend. Was wondering if any of you are getting married at Skylands Manor ion Ringwood or if you've been to any weddings there? Heard anything about the food? Service? Etc?

Also, if anyone knows of any local hotels in the area that will do a shuttle back and forth to the venue, please let me know,

I'm thinking of the place for my wedding, but was a little worried about people driving on Skyline Drive late at night, leaving the wedding. Also, haven't heard anything about the caterer. Any feedback you can provide is greatly appreciated. (Or other venue recommendations in the Northern NJ area would be helpful, too)

Thank you!

I went to a wedding there a month or so ago - LOVED it....beautiful setup, food was good, we really liked it a lot.

I just did a photoshoot there over this past weekend.  There was nothing going on, kind of quiet, but a lot of people walking around.  It's really nice, well not so nice now in the fall, but in season the grounds are really nice.

I heard good things about the food, the only bad is that I believe there is no air conditioning, there is a hefty "location fee" you pay on top of the per plate price for the catoring, and it's kind of out there.....

The drive sucked, I didn't take skyline drive off of 287, I took Ringwood Ave, and it took forever.....backed up and real slow through town center of Wanaque.  The roads are dark and narrow, signs are not the best.  I wouldn't want to be driving them without a GPS in the dark.  I had my iphone maps, but service was intermittant.

Oh I ditto the drive - GPS did not help at all - if you were to have your wedding there i would elaborate the directions.

I missed a right turn, the road was narrow with fences on both sides.  A lot of people were coming from both directions, so I had to drive like 2-3 miles out of the way just to find a place where I could pull over to turn around!

The mansion and grounds are beautiful.  I heard that they recently updated their ballroom by painting the walls and getting new window treatments.  The previous decor of the ballroom was dated (teal paint and it was just tired looking.)  The alternate rain location for the ceremony is literally a basement.  I've heard mixed reviews re: the food and to tell you the truth, the sales manager lost me when she couldn't pronounce "ceviche" correctly.
