Help/ideas for a ceremony spot

Hello all, My fiance and I are looking for a spot to have our wedding ceremony in March of 2013. We aren't very religious and any chuches I have contacted have denied us because we are not members. Does anyone know of any nice places to have a ceremony whether religious or not? We are having our reception at the Versailles Ballroom in Toms River so we could always have the ceremony there. I'd appreciate any help. Thank you so much!!!

I know this is going to sound horrible any many will not agree and this is coming from a very active Roman Catholic Church member, but whatever religion either one of you where baptised just join that church.... Joining a church consist of filling out 1 paper. Just be aware a church wedding comes with pre cana & pre marital counseling. I think everyone even if they are not active in their religion has the right to have their marriage performed in front of god and to receive the sacrament of marriage.  Good Luck
  • I'm getting married at Voorhees Chapel in New Brunswick, on the Rutgers campus. FI and I aren't very religious either but I wanted to get married in a church esp since I was raised Catholic. There is another church on campus, Kirkpatrick Chapel, but the two are very different aw far as looks go. Both are nondenominational, you pay a fee to use the church and then you can bring in your own officiant. GL!

  • I'm getting married at Sacred Heart Church in South Plainfield, NJ.  Its roman catholic, which I am, but my fiance is not and we are not members of that church.  We just had to pay $100 more than members of the church, though I agree that we had to attend pre cana and God's plan for a joy filled marriage

  • Check to see if there are any Universal Life Churchs in the area.  From my understanding they are pretty open to people from different religious backgrounds.

  • Having the ceremony at the venue is going to be most convenient for your guests.
  • I know of people who have gotten married at the beaches surrounding that area.  You can also check out the chapel at Allaire State Park (http://www.allairevillage.org/weddings.html)
