Group USA?

Someone at work mentioned that Group USA has nice wedding dresses at great prices.  Any feedback?  Thanks.

That's where I go tmy BM dresses!

They do seem to have some nice wedding-dress styles, but I think they use lower-quality (ie, synthetic) fabrics. Can't hurt to take a look...

I went and while the prices were decent, I didn't think that they were low enough to allow me to get a lesser quality dress. Many of the dresses there seemed to just not be to the standard other places were. I thought that the prices were comparable to those at DB or even many dresses at True Love/Cinderella which were much higher quality. Just my opinion though...

I tried some on on my first shopping trip ... we went to a traditional salon and nothing really fit me, so my mom kept suggesting that we go to a place with larger samples. I tried on a few that looked pretty good, but nothing wowed me. I was there for maybe half an hour, tops.

But I was also admittedly in a bad mood because of the salon gowns not fitting, plus we went to the ghettotastic Jersey Gardens Mall and a bunch of really trashy people were walking around in the mall and screaming, so it depressed me that I was looking for a wedding dress there. So, moral of the story, go to a Group USA in a more upscale location :P

A 2007 Knottie (RacheyT) got her dress from Group USA and I thought it looked very nice in her pics.

My mom and I went to the Neiman Marcus Last Call in Jersey Gardens a couple of weeks ago for her MOB gown and without much luck decided to take a walk around the rest of the mall... yikes! We did go into Group USA for about 2 minutes. I do NOT rec. that location either. There is one in Secaucus I believe that is much nicer.

Jersey Gardens isn't so bad if you know exactly what you're going for. The Marshall's there is HUGE and I'm a sucker for Marshall's and TJ Maxx.

Yes, Jersey Gardens made for an even worse experience. That was the one and only time I will ever go there haha. Although I did like the VS semi-outlet.

I think it can't hurt to take a look.  I didn't really like anything I saw there, but I also went to some ritzier salons and didn't like their stuff either.

I've only been to the Secaucus location, which is fine.  It's not ritzy by any means, but not ghetto-tastic

I liked Jersey Gardens a lot when it first opened, but the level of people who came to shop got SO trashy within a relatively short while. I agree that it's O.K. if you are going for something specific, but walking around there and dealing with such trashy people really pisses me off. FI and I were walking out of Lids once and nearly walked right into the middle of two big groups of teenagers about to fight. I like Marshall's stores, as you probably all know from my frequent posts and suggestions about it :P, but the one at JG is in such bad shape ... people just walk in and throw shiit all over the floor. Pisses me off.

The Group USA at Jersey Gardens wasn't bad, it was just being in the general mall that upset me. It was me, my mom and my sister/MOH, and the clerks didn't help us but I didn't really care about that. We pulled a few off the racks and I tried them on and then I just wanted to go home.

I didn't specifically notice the quality, but to me, as long as a dress looks nice and flattering on me then that's what counts. But I agree with Allie that, if I would spend a couple hundred more for an equally flattering designer dress of better quality, it's probably better to do that.

I remember when Jersey Gardens first opened and everyone was fighting for parking since it was the new mall in NJ... some lady got mad that my dad beat her to a parking space and yelled out the window "f**k you! I hope you die!" -- Very classy.

If you're going to go to ghetto gardens you have to go when it first opens.  That's when all the tourists from England are there and the caliber of people is MUCH different.

I actually went there last night with my mom to look at dresses for her.  We weren't impressed.  The prices were good, the quality didn't seem so.

I went to the one in Secaucus.  I thought that the dresses were pretty nice.  It was nice to be able to try them on in the size you were too.  The prices were pretty inexpensive as well.  I thought the fabrics werent that bad.  They are synthetic but they were thick fabrics.  I didnt end up with a dress from there and I actually ordered a Wtoo gown from Pearls place for around the same price as the Group USA dresses.

My niece got her dress for her wedding at the Group USA in Jersey Gardens; it's a beautiful dress, and the price is perfect for a young couple who is paying for the whole wedding themselves.  Besides, it's a wedding dress that'll be worn for 8 hours at the very most.  I don't see the point in spending money on an expensive dress when there are pretty alternatives out there....By the way, we made an appointment with a consultant, and she was very helpful.  My niece tried on like 20 dresses, and we actually went to DB and a very high-end salon in Manhattan, and she had 3 dresses in mind - one from each place.  She chose the one from Group USA, and it looks like a million bucks on her....she is getting married in five months from today!

The one in Palisades Center is the same exact store as Group USA, but its called Camille La Vie. I bought my dress there because I just happened to be there, but I ended up having them ship it to Secaucus and had my alterations done there. My dress was customized so I couldnt by right off the rack so it took a bit longer to receive. I think I got in in about 5 months? I thought the quality was great. FYI... the sticker price was $450, I paid $500 to have a train added and it was exactly what I was looking for. Def worth taking a look.

I went to the Group USA/Camille La Vie store in Ontario Ca.  Michele' was amazing to work with.  I agree that the quality is proabably not as high end as pricerier brands, but definitely higher end than David's Bridal.  Oddly, I purchased a Pronovias Gown 4 months ago for over 2000.00 and stumbled upon Group USA and tried on a dress that was 90% less, and it made me feel more like a bride than the 2k dress could ever do, as the style is very unique and simply beautiful
