Tipping?

I'm not sure who and how much to tip...

Donation to the priest - not sure of amount?

Reception - The person we booked with is the person who will be in charge on the day.  Who should we tip at the reception?

Photographer - owns her own business, should we tip?

Limo - should we tip the driver?

Photobooth - should we tip the operator?

Makeup - owns her own business, should we tip?

Hair - since she is my hair dresser, I will probably just get her a small gift because I want to.

Florist - owns her own business out of home, should we tip?

DJ - owns own business out of home, should we tip?

Video - owns own business, should we tip?

Invitations and Paper - owns own business, might send a little gift.

ANY advice would be appreciated! I am mostly lost on the priest, reception, limo, and photobooth (it seems like everyone else owns their own and one answer should apply to all?). Thank you so much!

Re: Tipping?

  • I an sticking to the rule that you don't tip the people who own the business, but you can tip their assistants. Did you pay gratuity in your reception fees? Mine had the 20% already added in which comes to like 3 grand for us. All my vendors are the owners, so I won't be tipping.
  • I'd definitely tip your photobooth operator, my FI works as a videographer/editor and occasionally has to do a photobooth for his company. It sucks when he doesn't get a tip, but I guess that's a biased opinion...

I think most limo companies add on gratuity, don't they? Not sure though...
