Rehearsal Dinner Questions

Where did everyone get the invitations from? I only need 15 of them and was wondering where I can get the best rate for them....

Did anyone do favors at a rehearsal dinner?

how about decorations?

We're looking at Vistaprint (getting about 15 or 20 of them).

My in-laws hosted, so they took care of most things.  They ordered invitations from paperstyle.com.  No favors.  They ordered floral centerpieces for the tables -- two per table (the tables were long and rectangular.  And there were some votives throughout the room, on the mantle and such.  I think that was about it for decorations (but we were in a really historic, pretty, small room so it really didn't need decorations and I think simplicity was best).

We ordered the invites through VistaPrint. No decorations, but we did use mini bottles of wine for favors. Our rehearsal dinner was at 5pm on a Friday night, and most people had to make arrangments to take off work that day, or leave early, and we wanted to show them a small token of our appreciation. We also gave each person a program for a keepsake.

Pear Tree Greetings you order by the 8's. I used them for my save the dates and another party invitations.

Ours was small, so we just called or e-mailed everyone with the details. I was toying around with an invitation on Vistaprint.com but just decided to save the money and call everyone.

We didn't decorate. I didn't see the need, and frankly I was too cheap and lazy to do it.

We didn't offer favors either. However, I bought a few dozen cupcakes for dessert and some guests chose to take them home to eat later.

I found a set of 25 that I really liked at AC Moore - with the 40% off coupon they were only $12 (score!)  I had been considering doing them myself, but the envelopes alone were more expensive than that.

We're not doing favors or decorations for the RD.

I got some pretty paper from staples and printed them out myself.  For centerpieces, I bought hurricane lamps from michaels, filled them with white, pink, and clear stones, and put a tall gold candle in the center.  For favors I made these sugared pecans that I usually bring to parties around the holidays-- people love them so I figured why not... they weren't cheap to make, but it was fun seeing everyone enjoy them!
