Solar nails? Salon recommendation?

I'm considering getting solar nails for the wedding.  Has anyone had any experiences with it?  Positive/negative?

My nails are pretty strong but I want a manicure that will last and that I don't have to worry about... or at least worry about less.

Also, any recommendations for a good salon in the Monroe-Jamesburg-Cranbury area???

TIA!

I'm so confused.. do you mean UV gels? I asked the girl at my nail salon about this and she had no clue what I was talking about. I have the uv gel on my nails right now (over a french manicure)..

A friend of mine got solar nails before her wedding a few months ago and loves them!!   She keeps trying to convince me to get them, I may have to give them a try.

Hmm...so if I'm understanding that correctly.. they paint the white tip part on your nail, then put the acrylic over the top of that and then buff it....
On my nails right now, I have acrylic, then pinkish nail polish, then white painted on the tip, to make the french, then the UV gel (which dries under the UV light). So the polish doesn't chip for weeks, and the acrylic needs to be filled in after about 3 weeks.. I would think this would look better than no polish and the white underneath the acrylic....I'd be interested to see what they look like in person...

Solar is the type of gel. I used to get clear solar gel and have my french airbrushed on with a uv top gel over the airbrushing to seal it in. Last year I switched over to pink & white solar gel (also referred to as "forever french") and they put uv top gel over it to make it shiny. I know it sounds a little confusing! lol Once you have it done, it makes sense.

OK it is all really confusing... but I think I ended up getting the pink and white UV gel.  It looks okay but I think it could look better.  We'll see what it looks like in a few days.
