Hi Ladies
In planning for my wedding I lurked on the boards for vendor reviews & I was really happy with those that I chose so I wanted to write a review of my own to pay it forward! It was just my fiancé & I (eloped but told the family ahead of time) so the list is kinda short. We were married in Las Vegas so I posted my Vegas vendors there but I didn’t want to forget my NJ vendors!
Dress – Exquisite Brides in Millburn
I was really happy with my experience there. The staff was extremely helpful and not at all pushy like they were at some other salons I visited. I bought a gorgeous Romona Keveza for my ceremony & pictures as well as my fascinator. (I bought my “reception/going-out” sexy dress at Bloomingdales) Their selection was great & I liked that they had ample mirror space! I used my own seamstress for alterations so I can’t comment on them for that.
Alterations - Anna’s Designs in Springfield
I have been going to Anna for about 5 years now for anything I need altered. She is excellent! From the smallest hem on a pair of jeans to special occasion dresses to my wedding gown – she is the best!!
United Airlines
PSA – If you are having a destination wedding, ship your dress if you can! United does not have full closets to store your dress (or at least they didn’t let me have one). I had to store my Romona Keveza in the overhead compartment. When I placed it there on take-off I laid it down nicely above people’s luggage. When we landed our lovely fellow passengers helped to scrunch it into a ball in the corner of the overhead compartment. Thankfully Fit for a Bride in Las Vegas came to the rescue and it looked fabulous within a day.
Dress Re-sale – Sara Elizabeth Bride in Colts Neck
Since I barely wore my gorgeous pink Romona Keveza gown (I had a second dress for dinner/dancing) I decided I wanted to sell it. I found Sara Elizabeth online & I decided to take a ride to her shop to check it out. It does not feel like a consignment shop at all! She has a cute little store on the same property as her house with the feel of an up-scale bridal salon. I can’t comment on a sale yet since I just listed it with her a few weeks ago, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it sells. If you haven’t purchased your gown yet, check her out, she has some beautiful gowns, veils, shoes, etc. Wish I knew she existed a year ago!
Happy Planning!!
