NJ Marriage License Question

Have any of you gotten your marriage license?  I am trying to figure out when exactly we have to do this.

If you mean when to apply for it.....you can apply up to 6 months before your wedding, but DO NOT pick it up until a couple weeks before, because it has a 30 day expiration. After your wedding your officant should send it in (or drop it off) within 5 days.

Check the rules in your town too
I live in Paterson and aparently you have to have an appointment to file for your marriage licence, when we made our appointment back in Dec they were already booked into this March

I found it weird when I called my town, I want to do it ASAP and pick it up w/in 30 days since I get nervous waiting til the last minute. The clerk acted all weird and was like there is no reason to come in until 30 days before. I was kinda annoyed. She also acted surprised I already know the name of the person marrying us (im 4 months away, why wouldnt we?) haha
