Flower Girl Dress

How far in advance should you go for a flower girl dress? My flower girl is 3 and the wedding is still 5 1/2 mos away.

It depends...are you ordering it from a bridal salon, if so soon...I got mine online and ordered them a few weeks ahead of time because they came in rather quick. I couldn't justify having my sisters pay $140 for a FG dress when their bridesmaid dress was that price so I got them online.

I second online dresses. .. kids at that age grow fast and if you buy it 5 months in advance its difficult to tell the size you might have to order. I would say maybe 2 months in advance depending on how far in advance you can get delivery.

My niece is about one, so we're just going to either get one off the rack at davids bridal, or go to jc penny or any other department store and find something in their Easter collection, probably a month or two before.

I would just go to a department store a month beforehand and get a cute dress.

My Flower girl, is also my 3 1/2 girl old daughter. I just ordered from cutieclothes.com a week ago. and we received it yesterday.
Sizing was perfect. IMO you should wait til 2 months before. But have what you want picked out & ready to go... BTW her dress only cost $58 & I love it! I couldn't find anything else that I loved....

I know my child grows out of stuff soooooo quickly.
I'm also waiting to buy shoes for this reason. lol

We got them at Davids Bridal a few months before.  My nieces were 4 and 7 at the time.  DB ordered them for us and they came in very quickly with no problems.    And they fit perfectly for the wedding, with the exception of my older niece who we needed to have it shorten a little bit because it was too long.

It really depends on what you are looking for...DB had dresses that matched mine and my nieces really wanted to get them, so we went through DB.  If you don't need something that matches, you can look for Easter/Communion Dresses which are out in the spring and just buy something off the rack.

The dress I will be getting my niece says it takes 8-12 weeks to come in, so we will order soon and get it altered as needed. I found her dress before I found mine and am actually more excited about hers haha its so freakin cute!
