Tuxs- is this normal?

We booked our tuxedos this weekend- so happy to have this done! My FI wanted all the tuxs the same, so his will be the same as all the grommsmen. I thought the groom was supposed to have a white/ivory vest. Is it normal that he just matches everyone else? If it makes him happy, I dont really care either way, just thought the other way would help him stand out

generally, the groom has a different color than the others, often times white.   I don't think I have seen a groom wear the same as the others.

DH was white to match me and the groomsmen matched the BM.  If it doesnt bother you go for it.

DH is tall and thin and decided that the white vest and tie were too much on him. The groomsmen were wearing black vests with purple/grey ties from thetiebar.com so DH decided to wear a black vest and a white/silver tie which set him appart a little but didn't make him stick out TOO much. (My dress was off white/ivory)

FI is wearing the same tux as the GM, except his shirt is black, not white like the GM. It's what made him happy, if he's happy then I'm happy. Everyone will know who the groom is.

As everyone has said, whatever makes him happy.  But he could always wear a different color tie like Laurie's H did or he could wear a different color flower in his Bout.

Agree with others, it's not a huge deal, but typically the groom wears something a little different to compliment your dress.  At least have him get a different color / type / style flower to distingiush him.

Totally up to him.  Presumably if someone is close enough to you to be invited to your wedding, s/he knows you well enough to be able to pick the groom out of the crowd of identically-dressed men.  So there's no real need for him to look different.

We didn't do vests or cummerbunds.  The tux place pressured us into having him do something different (looking back, I wouldn't bother) so he wore a pocket square and no-one else did.

I would try to do something different just so that anyone at the wedding that doesn't know him or barely knows him, can recognize the groom.

MH, our groomsmen and the dads all wore black vests. The groomsmen wore black and green striped ties, our dads elected to wear that same tie, and MH bought himself a green and white striped tie. And MH had a white rose boutinniere, while the GMs had pink daisies and the dads had white orchids.

He can wear whatever he wants. People will know he's the groom because he's the one up there getting married. Some guys just don't like wearing white/ivory.
