Heldrich - New Brunswick or Molly Pitcher and Oyster Point - Red Bank

Hi

Anyone have any experience with the Heldrich, Molly PItcher, or the Oyster Point.  We are getting married at Kirkpatrick Chapel so the Heldrich is no. 1 on our list but we also wanted to look at the other two.

Price per head? What does the room hold comfortably? Service?  Is the food any good?

Thanks

  • We looked at the Molly Pitcher and Oyster Point this weekend.  They both have menus for 169.00 and 187.00.  But that includes everything..tax and tip and a bridal suite and suite for your parents and in laws.  They offer alot for your dollar.  Dont know the Heldrich
  • We originally looked at the Heldrich and found them to be inflexible.  Also, wasn't thrilled with the fact that the cocktail hour was essentially the hallway.

  • I didn't look there for my wedding, but my bridal shower was at the Molly Pitcher and from what my mom says they were wonderful to work with and very accomodating.  And the food at my shower was really good!

  • I booked the Molly Pitcher for October 2013. If you do a Friday or book off-peak you can get a rate of about $135/person (includes tax, gratuity, and hotel accomodations for the bride and groom). Cocktail hour begins at 6pm and then the reception is from 7-11pm. If the weather is really nice you will have use of the patio for the cocktail hour. It has a beautiful view of the Navesink River.

I looked into the Heldrich as well but I love Red Bank and the Molly Pitcher has such a charming decor that it sets it apart from other hotels and ballroom type facilities.

  • I am having my wedding at the Oyster Point in June 2013.  You cannot beat that view! It's a very unique venue! All the staff have been great to work with and will work with you on your budget, don't be afraid to ask if there is something they can do in regards to the price.  I went there for the Red Bank Bridal Walk and the food that they served was great.  Also another person I know had a wedding there and say their guests still do not stop raving about the food.  The room holds 225, with 200 being most comfortable.  I have to guarantee 170.  They worked with us on securing a great package for my Saturday night wedding.  They are also flexible on a start time of either 6 or 7pm with ending times of 11pm or 12am.  We checked it out in the middle of winter when all the plants were dead.  Definitely check it out soon while all the trees stil have leaves and things are still pretty.
  • i've only heard good things about the molly pitcher/oyster point.  however, be aware that red bank is a solid 35 minute ride from new brunswick, and there's no direct route to the parkway from new brunswick (at least not a good one that doesn't make the ride longer).

i'm having my reception at the grand marquis in old bridge, good price, yummy food, and i've only heard amazing things about them (my step-mom's niece got married there too).  it's about 20 minutes from the kirkpatrick chapel.  you also might want to look into the imperia in somerset, and the rosewood in edison.  i've heard good things about them too.  the imperia was a little out of my price range, but super nice (and not even 10 minutes from kirkpatrick chapel, straight up easton ave.).

    good luck!
  • oh...grand marquis is $80 on fridays, and $100 pp on saturdays

imperia was $135 pp i think, and the rosewood was around $80 also for fridays.  the rosewood had a couple of different packages.
  • Thanks!  All this is helpful.  We are meeting with the Heldrich on Saturday, and the Molly on Sunday.

<div>HI  </div><div>I know the route.  Most of my friends and family grew up in the Red Bank area and/or went to Rutgers.  The route is long but it's not something most of us havent done before.</div><div>
