Dress Came In

Morning All!

So the Bridal shop (Bijou Bridal, Paramus) called me yesterday to tell me that my dress has arrived. I made an appointment to come in to pay the balance as well as to inspect and try on the the dress. No alterations done until a little less than two months before, however, I forgot to ask if they will keep the dress until the alterations. Any Bijou brides know what the protocol is? Or any brides for that matter? I assume that they may not want to be repsonsible for it, so I may have to take it. I plan to call lthem this morning to ask, but just thought it might be good for other brides to hear this too.

I don't know about Bijou specifically but most bridal shops do not have the storage space to hold dresses for months.  I'm pretty sure you're going to have to pick it up and store it until the alterations are needed.

That's what I thought. It makes perfect sense. I really can't wait to see it! I don't want to take it home because everyone at my house will be looking at it....uggg what to do. I don't really have the storage space for it, either.

My dress came in 3mos early, which was 4 mos after ordering it and 6mos before our wedding. My salon is keeping it, for me, until I take it home for the wedding. I think a boutique like Bijou would store it until all alterations are done. Call and ask before you go just in case you do have to bring it home. That way, you can find a safe place before it leaves w/ you. Enjoy

Thanks! I finally got in touch with them. I have been told that they will store it for me and that they wouldn't expect nor recommend that I take it home. Relief!!!!!
