Wedding Party?

So, my FI is having a "Best Woman" instead of a Best Man.  Do we call her the Best Woman, Groomswoman or Groomsperson in the programs?  Best Woman just doesn't sound right to me, but I think it is just because it is so traditional to have a Best Man.  What do you guys think?

huh? i have no idea....i would probably ask my DJ what he has called them in the past.

i do agree that "Best Woman" sounds odd. 

maybe "Groomsmaid"??? ..."Bridesmaid for the Groom"....???

ooohhh....i googled and came up with "best lady", "groomsmaid", "groom's maid of honor",

the most popular seemed to be "maid of honor" (for the groom)

I hope you're joking andrea01012009...and even if you are, not a funny thing to say.  Small minded and mean spirited. 

To the topic on hand, I like "best lady" the best, although it feels a little more informal so if you're having a real fancy wedding I would suggest going with something else.    Groomsmaid would work if she was just one of the the groomsmen, but not for the best man position.  "Groom's maid of honor" and "Bride's maid of honor" does have a nice symmetry.  Good luck!

Ignore Andrea Jodipi (I see you are new to the board). She just likes to insult people and offers nothing useful to any conversation.

It looks like you and midnite came up with the same:  Grooms maid of honor"  I think I may list her in the program as Maid of Honor on the Groom's behalf, or something similar.

i wonder if she will get dressed in the same room as the men.  sounds like a hawt swinging time for all. i guess they won't be going to the nudie bar for the bachelor party.
