Kleinfeld App. 2 Weeks. Questions!~

Hello Ladies,

I feel like I am the crazy one with all the planning on the knot. I think I got yelled at 4 times already, but I think I have calmed down. 399 days of semi crazy left!

Anyway, I made my appointment at Kleinfeld in 2 weeks and the site mentioned that they have plenty of undergarments so just wear your normal bra and panties ?
"We have plenty shoes and undergarments for you to use when you try on gowns. "

What was your experience with this? Are they going to give me special spanx to try on with the dresses? So confused. I just ordered a strapless bra just in case they don't have my size. ..

Thanks everyone,

Christine

They may have a longline bra (corset type thing) for you to borrow.....but that grossed me out. I wore a regular strapless bra or my own longline bra while I was dress shopping. I also am a size 5 so I wore my own shoes cause the ones they have are usually too big for me and again I get grossed out easily. I wore a pair of pumps i could get in and out of easily. If you want to have spanx on to try on dresses make sure you bring your own. They will not have spanx and I recommend wearing underwear thats not a thong because there will be salespeople helping you out and while they have seen it all I'm sure....I just felt better covering up. Also nude colors were best and didn't show through.

Wear what you plan on wearing under your dress on your wedding day. They just want to sell you overpriced underroos and shoes.

When I went to Kleinfeld's I just wore full coverage underwear and my own strapless bra. I also brought my own shoes.  I'm actually going back on Saturday for my first dress fitting and your post reminded me that I need to go buy my undergarments! Thanks!

Good luck and enjoy your appointment!!!

I brought my own bras when I went dress hunting. Yep, bras - one longline and one plunge with straps (I was focusing on non-strapless). They were black, but I found that useful to gauge if a dress is transparent. At K's, I did use their try-on shoes. They come in all sizes, which is nice. They're really just for you to see how your dress looks with a heel - I wasn't pressured to buy them. If you feel more comfortable using your own heels, do that. But don't buy your wedding shoes before you have your dress!

When I tried on dresses I wore a strapless bra and full-coverage panties.  I'm a little skeeved out at the thought of wearing theirs!

One thing - if they try to give you Rita as your consultant, ask for another one!!  She barely speaks English and if you're budget is on the smaller side, she'll basically stand there and tell you that she has nothing to show you.  She literally make me and my MOH go into the store room to pull dresses because "she has nothing".  Finally she brought out a bunch of random stuff that was nothing like what I wanted.  It was one of the worst experiences.

I would suggest bringing your own undergarments and even robe, their robes are kind of gross, not as nice as they seem on tv.  Also, bring alot of pictures of styles that you'd like to try on - I had to be very specific with my consultant and it took her a while to start bringing out styles that I liked.  Ultimately I didn't get my dress there, but it was a good experience overall!!

I wore a strapless bra and an outfit with black leggings. I was more comfortable changing in front of all of the people that were going in and out of the room with the leggings on.  (Sometimes other consultants will come in looking for a particular dress.)

    Best of luck to you!

Let the OP make up her own mind! She has the appointment! And while my experience at K's was just OK, I did find my dress there, so that makes up for its flaws. K's is really a YMMV place.

Bring your own things there, pp was right even their robes are a little yucky and if you are tall like me they dont cover much. I didnt have a good experience their either. I was warned by my sisterinlaw and mom but decided to go anyway (love the show!). I had a no-name lady who was rude and all about how much I was going to spend. Nothing magical like the show, she actually told me to go the closet and look myself. If you are spending under $3k they turn their noses up, unlike the show. But go and see for yourself, maybe you are on the show? If so, I bet you get great treatment. GL!

I couldn't disagree more about people on the show being the only ones getting "better" treatment (I mean, Dianne doesn't come across as someone I would have had success with). And while my dress was in the "under-$3,000 closet," I did try on some under-$2,400 dresses from the massive stockroom. Your experience there really hinges on who you get. Also, I'd been to five salons before K's (including Pronovias, which for all its fawning over me didn't have what I was looking for), so by then I knew what I wanted and what looked best on me. I had my issues with K's (particularly contacting them after my order was placed), but my selection went well, and I frankly don't think it's as bad as everyone here says it is. It's really a place to go only when you haven't found what you were looking for elsewhere. Or you want Pnina.

I didn't try on dresses at Kleinfelds, however, I went to numerous other places and I don't really see the point of bringing/using shoes. At least for me, the dresses were all about a foot or more too long, so I just went in socks or flip flops.

If you are tall and plan on wearing heels..it is a very good idea to bring shoes with you so you can see if the dresses will be long enough or if you need to order extra length.

Yeah I guess it just depends on if you are tall or short. Being 5'2" I knew all dresses would be wayyyy too long for me anyway :)
