Horrible Weekend!

So, my 8 year old Chihuahua was "murdered" yesterday :(  My mother's neighbor's Great Dane got him and, well, I need not say more.  What a crappy start to Christmas week!!  My mother is torn all to pieces over it too thinking it is her fault.  I keep telling her even if she had been holding him there was nothing she could have done because that dog is so big and so mean.  I think me and Mr. Great Dane are going to be having a chat!!

I hope everyone else had a better weekend than us!

I'm so sorry! I can relate, we had a chihuahua that got attacked by a german shepherd and didn't make it. He was the first dog I ever took full responsibility for so it was really hard.

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I know pets can sometimes feel like part of the family, that's so sad!

I'm so sorry! I cannot even imagine how you feel- I am so sorry you have to go through this! Poor little thing. Did the dog get through a fence or something? I second Cathy, I hope the owners get a call from Animal Control!

O-M-G.... I cannot even imagine, I'm so sorry. Did you call the police??? I certainly would have, I'd be suing the neighbor, I'd be out for blood!!!! Frown

I'm so sorry, too! Frown I'm not sure of all the circumstances, but I hate when people do not properly restrain their animals.  I hope you have words with the neighbor, and let that neighbor know how you feel.

We are working on having the dog declared dangerous.  The neighbor lets the dog run loose all the time and, well.  I hate that is was my "baby" but i am glad that it was not a small child out playing or something.  Don't worry..........words have been exchanged!

Thanks girls!  We had a little funeral and everything.  He was like a little member of the family.

Good luck!  I hope you succeed with getting the dog characterized as dangerous. I'm sorry you've lost one of your family members. :(
