Did anyone transport their dress in a regular sedan?

I'm picking up my gown today and I'm a little nervous as I don't have an SUV to use tonight and I drive a Fusion. Did anyone transport their gown in a regular 4-door sedan? Is it better to lay it across the back seat or put the seat down and lay it through the trunk? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Maybe you could push your back seat down and lay the garment bag out?  If not maybe just lay it across the back seat?

I am also going to be transporting my dress in my corolla. I was just planning on laying it across the back seat. I will be driving from DC to NJ and will have to bring other stuff with me so I will not be able to use the trunk space. Once out of the car I was just going to hang it up properly.

When a friend of mine picked up her dress, she had a Honda Accord, what shes did was hung the dress and laid it across the backseat of the car. The dress was fine.

I have a sedan. When I went to go pick up my dress, the owner helped me get it into the car. We hung it up in the back and laid it across the back seat. He also pinned the train up onto a second hanger. I  immediately brought it over to where I would be getting ready. I hung it up and had a small table in front of it, we put the train out over the table to let the dress breathe. It was wrinkle free and fine a few days later for the wedding.

Mine was shipped from the boutique to my parents' house, and arrived in a box that would have easily fit in the trunk of a sedan (the dress was folded at the knee in the box -- the box was not as tall as the dress).  We took it out, hung it in a closet, and it was in perfect shape on wedding day.

And now that I think of it -- we drove to the venue on the day of the wedding in my mom's sedan (which is kind of a small, sporty one -- not nearly as big as an Accord).  We didn't do anything special except hang it nicely on the coat thing in the back, and it was fine.
