**jess4xo3** re: metallic envelopes

Hi!  So I had the same issue with metallic envelopes and paper... I used Lustre and Silver Ore from cardsandpockets.com.  After a lot of research (the ladies on the DIY board rocked with advice) here's what worked for me:

* If you have a laserjet printer:
- Go under "printer properties" and change the paper type to "transparency" or "vellum".  These settings release the least amount of ink, and will reduce smudging.
- The laserjet should heat seal the ink, and the envelopes should print without a problem.  I printed 5 at a time and let them sit for a few minutes to dry to be sure.

* If you have an inkjet printer:
- Change the paper type as above.
- This is where it gets tricky.  Print them, and grab them as they come out of the printer so they don't sit against each other.  The ink will be damp.
- Let them sit out overnight to dry.  The ink may still be wet in the morning.
- Get some all-purpose clear craft acrylic spray ($4.99 at Michaels) and lightly spritz the envelopes.  The spray will dry clear and seal the ink.

I also tried microwaving the envelopes (another suggestion online) but the ink still smudged.  It's a process, but it works!  Good luck!

omg thank you sooo much!  I will def try this.. I tested it on the samples and it didn't dry hours after so I got nervous but I will def try changing the paper type and the spray and letting them sit overnight.. I was going to get them printed and they wanted to charge $2.50 per envelope.. this is almost what I am spending for the invitation since DIY.. wasn't worth it to me.. Thanks so much for the advice..
