To those who invited the priest to the reception...

Did you invite him with a guest or without?

Without, but we also invited my "home" priest and they're good friends so we knew they would be together.

Ours is a priest, so he's not married or anything, so no guest.

No guest, but ours said no anyway.  He said he never attends receptions, so do we even bother inviting him to the rehearsal dinner?

That's a good question...are you supposed to invite the Priest to the rehearsal dinner? I hadn't thought of that...

We didn't invite him with a guest, but he's a friend of the family so we sat him with them.

Ours invites himself for dinner and dessert every week.  I am positive that he will invite himself to the rehearsal and reception. No doubt about it. No invite needed.

I don't think you have to send a formal invitation to the priest for the rehearsal dinner, I think just extending the invite at the rehearsal is suitable.

I'd go with no guest, more than likely he will decline unless he is close to your family.
