DB alterations versus private seamstress

Anyone have experience with NJ David's Bridal alterations?

If so or if not, did you use a private seamstress?

I didn't have any problems with the DB alterations department (in Springfield). I know a lot of people say don't goooo, but my mom wanted to stay somewhere familiar with working on the dress we had. Everything turned out a-okay. No issues!

I used the DB in Paramus for my sister's bridesmaid dress and even though the dress came out fine, I wouldn't ever go back there. Even though I had appointments, each time I went I waited more than 45 minutes and nearly every employee I encountered was kind of rude I thought. (maybe because I was just a bridesmaid, not a bride?)

I will be using Hollywood Bridal for alterations on my dress, I got the recommendation from a Knottie. I've only made an appt, haven't had anything done yet, but so far they've been extremely nice and accomodating.

I used DB Alterations in Wayne and they did a great job.   If you bought your dress there, keep in mind that if anything happens to your dress they will have to get you a new one...if you go elsewhere and something happens  you will be out of luck.

I had my alterations done at the DB in East Brunswick and had no problems.

I agree with Goaliegirl on if they make a mistake or ruin something, it's on them to get a new one (it's the same advice she gave me!)

I've had alterations on BM dresses done at DB, but personally I wouldn't go there if I didn't have to. Every employee I've ever encountered there, at multiple locations, has been mostly rude and/or incompetent.
