The Grove in Cedar Grove

This weekend I went to visit The Grove which is supposed to open sometime in 2011. Me and my fiance really like it even though it is still under construction (their offices are not even in the building yet). They sales person talked to us and showed us sites plans then took us inside. From what we saw it looks like it is going to be beautiful and that place is def on our top three list. Now here are my questions I hope you guys can help me with.
1. The sales person told us it would be 159pp for a friday or a sunday wedding is that reasonable for a new place or can I talk him way down from that price?
2. Should we really book this venue before it is completed even though we really like what we saw they still have a little ways to go.

Last week I went to look at stationery.  The owner of the store said she went to a wedding industry event there and said everyone is raving about it... supposedly it is owned by management who worked at the Pleasantdale.  She said it is planned to be along the lines of the Westmount or Venetian, so with that in mind, $159pp doesn't sound off.  I would think that is negotiable since they haven't opened yet.  What are the other 2 places you are considering?

Personally, I'd be a little bit nervous to try a new place, but someone has to try it!  If you loved what you saw and the price is right, why not?  I wonder if they can give you references of people who can speak to their expertise, so you can get a better comfort level?

Good luck - it does look amazing online!

We went to look at it as well, and I the sales rep we had told us he had been management at Pleasantdale, so I guess that's confirmed.  The owners are actually the owners of the Tick Tock Diner on Rt 3 in Clifton.  Their daughter goes to the school where I teach.  So anyway, we went to look and it was beautiful, but they weren't able to tell us much about the food, which was number 1 for us.    Also, $159 is reasonable, because we were quoted $165 for a Saturday night and that was with a discount, since my uncle is the fire chief in Cedar Grove and they wanted him to approve their license! So, we ended up going with the Westmount, and I'm glad we did!

Yeah things seem shady with this place, esp all the spamming about it on this board
