Loews Landmark Jersey Theatre-- + other venues

Has anyone reading this been married here, or attended a wedding here?  I went for a movie tonight, and my fiance and I fell in love with the place. It's around $3,000 to rent, not including the $45/hr fire marshall, comprehensive insurance, catering, lighting, etc, but we really want a unique experience and think this place is IT :)  Just looking for your experience at Loews, or other unique suggestions if you'd like to share. Thanks!!
-Sara

I've never been but there was a couple on here when I started who got married there and their pitcures were really quite lovely. They seemed to be very happy and had a good experience.

Only problem with having a wedding there is you have to rent everything including tables and chairs.

This was our top choice, but we ultimately went elsewhere. The reasons:

--Like was said, you have to rent *everything*. Just the cost of chairs and tables alone wound up being more than we were expecting.

--You also have to hire a fire marshall, and work with a caterer who can work without a kitchen (there are a lot that do, though)

--Because it's not in the best area, we felt like we would've needed to hire a valet to do the parking, and that was another added cost.

With all these things put together, we were winding up with a very sparse menu/event, compared to what we could get elsewhere.

Having said that, I would've loved, loved, loved to have been able to pull it off. Good luck =)

Oh, and as for other venues. We also looked at:

    --Newark Museum
--Mezzanine, a converted 1920's Deco bank, also in Newark
--Women's Club of Glen Ridge -- a converted old house

    We ultimately wound up here:

It's another beautiful old house -- it doesn't feel like a "reception hall" at all, and was much easier to swing, price-wise...
