NWR: Puppylove was fixed today!

Our babygirl Daphne had her spaying surgery today.... I was a mess when we dropped her off ~ she has to stay at the vet's 2 nights!
But the vet just called and said the surgery is over, she is out of anesthesia, and is everyone'e best friend.
Glad she did well & is awake... but the thought of her there alone & in pain without us for 2 nights is agonizing! =(

2 nights?! Wow. When my mom's dogs got done, we picked them up the night of (two separate occasions) and while they were groggy, they were fine. By the next day you would never know they had surgery. Crazy for two nights!

We had Pumpkin spayed in February and she had to have a hernia repaired at the same time. I picked her up the same day, but wish she could've stayed overnight because she was acting really wierd and it freaked me out. I was up with her for 24 hours straight afterward and had to call the vet a few days later because she still was not anywhere near being her "old self." I know you will miss her, but it may be for the best...glad to hear she is doing well.

She is a cavapoo... and she is such a love!
Supposedly at our vet boy dogs stay 1 night, and girl dogs stay 2. Definitely crazy! None of my dogs growing up ever had to stay overnight either!
At first I thought it was just a money making scheme, but they don't charge anything for room & board!
I am glad during the day she will be by the vets & techs there... but I worry about her at night there alone & scared. =(

Poor baby!  I'm sure she'll be okay, and it is good that she'll be in a safe place for recovery.

We had our dog spayed in Feb., and like PP, I wish they had kept her overnight.  She seemed to be in so much pain.  i was convinced they forgot to to give her pain medicine (as soon as we gave her the pills the next morning she seemed like she started feeling better).  Glad she's doing OK though.  It's so scary!

Heather - Can I ask where you got the dog from? do you have a breeder you used? I've been looking into getting a dog and a cavapoo is on my short list, I've also been looking at shihpoo's. I'd love to know more about where you got her from. If you don't mind and wanted to could you email me or PM? (my email is rachel8212 at gmail) - Thanks!!!
