Kleinfeld Dress Brides

Just curious I saw in another post about 4 or 5 girls who bought their dresses at Kleinfeld's which got me wondering why did you buy your dress from there?

Did you buy your dress from there just so you could say you went to Kleinfelds?

Was there a dress there that you just had to have that no other stores had?

I was just curious I never even looked there but I also had no desire to.  I get the impression that their dresses are way over priced and you are paying just for the store name.  Also all of the sales people seem so snotty on say yes to the dress.

I ended up getting my dress at Kleinfeld's. I looked at a couple of stores in the Northern NJ area and didn't really find anything that I absolutely loved. I found one dress that I really liked at I Do I Do in Morristown, but wasn't completely sold on it. When I decided to go to Kleinfeld's, I looked at it as they have the biggest selection of dresses and that if I didn't find something I loved there, then the dress at I Do I Do was probably "the one". I definitely didn't buy my dress from there just so I could say I'm a Kleinfeld bride. I'm sure if I had dedicated a lot more time to searching in NJ, I could have found my dress at another bridal shop, but I didn't have the time to do that.

I personally had a great experience with my consultant when I went. I also had no issue whatsoever when it came to the amount of dresses in my budget they could show me, and I didn't have an insanely high budget. I also don't feel that I'm paying for the Kleinfeld name...I'm paying for the designer name which is expected when purchasing any wedding dress. At the end of the day, I didn't care that I was getting my dress at Kleinfeld's, I was just happy I had found a dress I absolutely love!

i got my dress there...it's a pnina tornai dress, which they are exclusive too (except in europe). her dresses are breathtaking, but expensive and probably even more so since you can't purchase them elsewhere. i had no problems with the sales reps. i also liked the fact that they had so much to pick from.

I'm a plus size bride and VERY busty and finding dresses to try on that are not a sample size was tough. Every place I called told me they had a "great selection" of plus size dresses to try and and when I'd get there they had like 3 decent ones and the rest looked like they were from the 80s. I know I could have gone to David's Bridal because they carry every size but I've had bad experiences there in the past when purchasing bridesmaids gowns that I felt like I didn't want to be bothered with them for such a big purchase for me.

I decided to go to Kleinfeld's because they boast the largest selection of in-stock plus size sample dresses so I figured why the hell not. I didn't plan to purchase a dress from there. I was more so hoping to be able to try on a number of dress styles in all shapes and cuts to get a better idea of what would look good on me. I went with about a year in advance before my wedding date... and ended up trying on my dream dress.

I also thought going in that their prices would be absurd and to not get my hopes up but I gave them a low ball price under my range figuring if they tried to upsell me (which most salons do) i would have some room to budge. most of the dresses they pulled were either at or under my range I gave and even one was about $400 less than the "top price" i gave them! My dress ended up being about $50 more than the original limit I gave them which was still under my actual top number.

My experience there was like non other. Before them I went to about 3 different salon's and didn't have CLOSE to the experience I had there. Yes it is cool to see the people who are on tv walking around and meeting Randy (who by the way is soooo nice) but they are very professional and I felt no pressure to buy what so ever.

I guess you can say I went for the hell of it. When I got engaged, I swore I wouldn't go to Kleinfeld. But after I couldn't find anything at four places (Jaehee in Englewood, and Pronovias, RK and Designer Loft in the city), I figured I had nothing to lose.

Overall, I give my K's experience a B, mainly because it was hard to get in touch with customer service, and because I'm pretty sure they don't put in the order with the manufacturer right away, but time it so that the dress comes in 6 weeks before the wedding date (so if you go, tell them your wedding is two weeks to a month earlier than the actual date). My saleswoman at K's (Ingrid) was wonderful and listened to me (unlike Jaehee girl who thought I liked "bliiiiiing" because one of the dress photos I showed her had a removable rhinestone brooch). I had a better experience at Pronovias and Designer Loft, but that doesn't mean anything when you can't find your dress.

I really do believe if K's was the first salon I visited, I wouldn't have had success. But after five visits to four salons, I had a very good idea of what I liked and what looked best on me.

The dress I found at K's was by Marisa, which is a label that wasn't on my radar because they don't do any advertising or show their dresses on their site. There are places in NJ that carry Marisa, but I doubt I would have found my dress in this state, as it's not a popular silhouette (v-neck, not strapless).

As for seeing the show's stars, I didn't see Randy, but I chatted with Keasha in the bathroom, and my fitter called in Vera for extra help.

I had a wonderful consultant who actually pulled dresses under my budget. I ended up purchasing a Lazaro that I could not find in Jersey. I was also there during a trunk show, so the price was discounted almost 12 percent.  I loved it there and have been back just to stop in and try my dress on lol

I was actually tapped for the show Yes to the dress. I had a wonderful time and my consultant, Randy and everyone else in he show were very nice to me on camera and off. I gave them a very small budget and they  found tons of dresses for me to try on.

I agree, I would never go to a store just becuase it was X, I went mainly b/c I knew they had the biggest selection and also the sizes.  I am not a plus size bride but I also dont fit into a sample size 8, Kleinfeld was the 4th store I went to.  As far as my experience in the begining it was horrible, I had Diane from the show and she was pushy and ithe start of the appt I felt like she was like oh this isnt in your budget or blah blah blah and I was turned off in the first five minutes, then she pulled a dress i hated and made me try it on literally made me and it eneded up being the one everyone I was with cired and she honestly knew what she was talking about she is nice just a tough personality.  I would give my experience a B- but they do have a huge selection at many price range. My only complaint  is pricey is alterations it is a flat rate of $595 which in their defense is for ulimited fittings but if you dont need that it is pricey and from the suggestions here I will not be altering there.  Hope that helps
