Invitation question...one got sent back to me! What to do?

Hi!  I mailed my invites out a week ago.  All was going well until Friday when one of the invitations got returned back to me.  Now my questions are...can I just correct my mystake and resend it back in the same envelope, even though they put a giant sticker on it that says "address not found"?  Am I allowed to use the same stamp, or do I have to put another stamp on it?

Sorry but that has never happened to me before so I dont know the rules!

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you can't just fix it and re-send since the post office already processed it and returned it to you.

That aside, I would put it in a new envelope anyway.  And possibly call the guest(s) in question and say "oops!  I goofed on your address, new invite is on the way!" - particularly if it is someone who knows that other people have received invitations already.

  • I don't know the right answer to the question but I would put it in a new envelope and use a new stamp, just because it will look nicer.

  • You have to put a new stamp at the very least, once a stamp is cancelled it is invalid.
