New Jersey

New venue? I'm confused.

Hey Guys! Congratulations to all you fellow new brides - a very exciting time!!! This is my first time posting, and I hope that I can get a bit of help!

I am newly engaged and started hunting around for a wedding site. I have been reading up on posts about the W, the Westin, and others, but I can't seem to find anything on Maritime Parc - I think it's new. Does anyone know anything about it - or have u been?

Welcome and Congrats. Where is that venue located? I don't think I've heard of it.

EDIT: I did look it up but it seems like there are still only drawings and perspectives. I wish they had some "real" pictures up there.

I have not heard of that hotel either but I am getting married at the Westin Hotel in Princeton next month should you have any questions.

    Congratulations!

I'm getting married at Liberty House right next door. We've been watching the building Maritime Parc is in get constructed.  As of when we were there last Saturday it looks pretty much done from the outside. Its an okay looking building but until I looked it up just now FI and I assumed it was going to be some sort of office building based on how it looks from the outside - nothing special and surrounded by parking lots (except for the marina side which is pretty). Maybe it will look better when it's all done.

I do have a friend who got married at the Westin and another one who's getting married at the W in August.  I think both places are very expensive, but they were both able to get decent deals for different reasons; the Westin because she booked it before it opened and the W because they still had her date open 7 months before the wedding.

Thank you all for your help! Did anyone go to the NY Weddings Show last night? They were actually there... weird. I got a lot of my questions answered, they are opening in July, and apparently only have mock-up photos to show.

I spoke with one of the sales girls and they are offering 30% off if the event is booked before their opening. I am going to see the place next week, along with the W, I will keep everyone posted. Thanks again!!!!

I just got engaged and was wondering if you booked with Maritime Parc? I was going to go take a look but since they are very new and from one review I have seen I am kinda scared to even go look.

    Thanks!

justengaged, are you referring to the posting over on Weddingbee? Doesn't sound good if this is true: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/maritime-parc-construction-delays-had-to-change-our-venue-last-minute

It's never a good idea to book a major event at a venue that hasn't opened yet. The Grove in Cedar Grove (just up the road from il Tulipano) is another under-construction hall that's taking bookings ... you may get a great deal if you book now, but you pay a bigger price - not being able to properly visualize your event. And that's if you're lucky!
