Ok here is my reviews for our 11/16/10 wedding!
Chapel of the Flowers:
Everything they did was above and beyond. I was kind of scared planning everything from all the way across the country. Everyone I communicated with via email and phone was super helpful and very nice.
We added the luxury license option to our Intimate Wedding ceremony package. For $75 (I think that’s the price) this is a great deal especially if it is just going to be the two of you, money is a little tight and you are not renting a car. The limo comes and picks you up on the scheduled time and date (they always call your room first) and takes you to the license bureau and then the chapel to meet your planner, check out the grounds and go thru everything that will happen on your wedding day. Our limo driver was Josh, who was great. He was friendly and talkative. He dropped us right off in front of the license office and picked us up as soon as we were done, since he had to circle the block a few times—I guess they don’t allow parking in front.
We then went to chapel and met Keri-Dawn, our planner, who was also very nice. She showed us our chapel, photography samples, our flowers, etc. Believe me, whatever concerns or questions I had prior to this, were all answered!
For our wedding day, the chapel and the staff was all wonderful! They explained everything that was going to happen, step by step, as Keri Dawn did the previous day. Our minister was Doug, and he was awesome! He took aside for a few minutes, gave us a little “pregame” info lol He told us everything that was going to happen during the ceremony, where to stand etc. He was so funny and genuinely nice, talked about where we are from etc. Everyone that watched the wedding back home remarked at how much they liked him, so if he ends up being your minister you are very lucky!
Emil was our photographer, and again he was excellent! He is young so he really has an eye for both modern and traditional pictures. We opted to not get a photo package with the chapel, since I had booked the famous Todd Wilson. So Emil just took pics of us before, during and some posed pics after the ceremony on the chapel grounds.
Ok, we weren’t going to buy any of the extra pics since we booked Todd, but we were so taken with Emil’s photos at the viewing that we caved and bought the CD with all the pics with rights to every pic—yes they were THAT GOOD. I will try to include a link so you can see the photos on the website, but they don’t stay up more than a week or two. And the chapel had a special where they give you two more CD copies for family or friends to give as gifts or whatever. The price was reasonable and imo, it was worth it since the pictures were gorgeous.
For our wedding day our limo driver was Tom. He was great as well. Very sweet, reminded us to bring the rings (very important! They must have people who forget them all the time!) Again, he was great, and gave a little advice on happy marriage when he dropped us back at our hotel.
Summary: Chapel of the Flowers in my opinion is 5 star quality. I think they were absolutely wonderful in every way, nothing lacking at all. Great grounds, chapel, planners, communication, photos—everything!! Just everything was swoon worthy!!
For our private photographer I booked Todd from Bentley Wilson of course. Who doesn’t love Todd? He is great as well. We went for the strip 2 hr package, and although I had aching feet at the end, it was worth every blister! There’s not much more I can say than what has already been said. If you have the option Todd is excellent. Book him. He was friendly, talkative and got some great pics. He took over 400 of just the two of us! And he had some great locales where the scenery was beautiful! You wouldn’t even know we were in Vegas in some of them unless I told you! Even DH was excited about the pictures, and is dying to see them! We haven’t receieved our photos yet, but when we do I will be sure to upload some of them on here.
Lastly, for hair and makeup I booked Glamsquad thru our chapel. I requested James and I got him!! From the moment he walked in, I was perfectly at ease with him. I showed him what I liked, asked his opinion and off he went. He talked to both of us throughout the session. He told us funny stories, made us laugh, and we just had a general conversation like we’d known him for years! The final product was gorgeous. I can’t believe he took my morning face and hair and turned it into THAT. Lol He told me to take a good look at it and make sure I liked it all, and if not then he would change whatever necessary. He really wanted to make sure I was happy which was so sweet. I didn’t feel rushed at all during the appointment. We did hair and airbrush makeup. He even did the false eyelashes and didn’t charge me for them! He also asked me what chapel we were getting married at, and when I told him Chapel of the Flowers he was really pleased and said that that chapel was the best in his opinion, since what you see on the website and in pics is what you get—no surprises when you get there in person, so there will be no strip clubs, adult stores, or used car lots in the background of your photos.
I know Glamsquad has received some not so good reviews, and I really can’t say anything about that, since my experience was great. Yes James was a little late, but not much at all and he called first and was apologetic. The work he did was impeccable. I didn’t feel too made up or not look like myself. I looked like me, but better! Lol And he made sure I was REALLY happy with everything before leaving.
