Fayetteville, NC wedding June 25,2011 Help!

My wedding date is June 25, 2011.  I haven't started on much of planning at all.  I have set the wedding ceremy venue, and that is where my planning stops. ha.  Does anyone have any suggestions or resources they are willing to share for this area of NC?  Anything is of great use!  Thank you all!

I'm from that area but I haven't lived there in 5 years. I'm not getting married there so I'm not sure I could help much. Where are you having your ceremony? What exactly do you need help with?

My ceremony is at Cape Fear Botanical Gardens.  I'm trying to book a reception venue soon, but we are on a pretty strict budget and all the hotels around the area are way too overpriced.

Can you do your recption at Cape Fear? Most cermony places allow receptions there and its esier on your guests

i suggest getting a wedding planning book they are really  budget friendly at Barnes and Nobels...
    you need photogographers
    think of colors
    bridal gown
    bridesmaid dresses
    grooms attire
    groomsmen attire

I would suggest NOT to ask your wedding party til about the 9th month that is the norm on most boards.  things can happen etc

the knot has a check list go there under MY Knot and click view all...start seeing what you can check off

If you are marrying a soldier (I knw that I'm assuming, but...) you can check at Ft Bragg's facilities and check with the MMRW for help. The Botanical Gardens are BEAUTIFUL... of course this is from 25 years ago memories, when I was a young army wife... LOL

    Hey!
I have a friend getting married in her church in Fay and having the reception at the Holiday Inn Bordeaux and it isn't costing her all that much. They also have several different sized and styled conference rooms which they turn into reception halls so you can see which one fits your budget.
On the more expensive side, you can check the prices at Fox Hollow (google it - it's towards Vander). It's a really, REALLY beautiful place. I think they do both ceremonies and receptions. I wanted to use it but they were booked the entire month of next May already hah.
I'll keep thinking on reception venues. When I was looking in Fayetteville I had a hard time finding places too.

I ended up booking my venue in Benson so I don't really have a lot of information about vendors in Fayetteville, but I'll keep an ear out, especially with my friend's wedding coming up. I know she got her dress and BM dresses at An Affair to Remember in North Fayetteville on Ramsey street. I've been in there too and they are REALLY nice and really reasonably priced so I highly suggest you check in there.

Hope some of this helps. I'll keep thinking! Feel free to message me if you need anything!

I actually wouldn't recommend getting a wedding planning book. I got one when we fis got engaged a year and a half ago. Sure, it has useful information but you can find ALL of it online for free.

Thank you all so much for all of your information!  We can do our reception and ceremony at the gardens; however, they are doing some construction to have  visitors complex where you can actually use it for the inside.  The problem is, they have yet to decide on a price and the construction will not be complete until Feb.  Is this too late to hold out to see the site and decide?

I'd love to do my reception outside at the gardens; however, the prices of getting tents set up and things for an outside reception are getting a little high with everything that we would have to account for.

I still have a while to make some final decisions, i'm just looking for some insight if anyone has any! I appreciate you all  :)

Congratulations on your up and coming wedding!!  I'm getting married in October in Fayetteville, NC.  We've found a location for the wedding, but still deciding on a location for the reception.

Botancial Gardens would be an awesome place to have your wedding.  It is gorgeous there!!  Not knowing anything until Feb might be pushing it a bit.  I would say have a back up place in mind just in case things don't go as planned.

Have you already looked in florists, caterters, video/photography, etc?  Sadly to say I only have 5 months to go to plan and I haven't decided on any of this yet.  Let me know, I'm interested in hearing about possible vendors that i could use.
